Jimmy's Countdown Chain

Jimmy was with me when we bought our flight tickets to the US months ago. He has been asking me EVERY day how long until we get to go. We made a countdown chain when there were 21 days left. We're so excited because now there are NO chains left! We leave early tomorrow (Friday) morning.

Please pray for us...seriously...we're going to need it. I am worried about traveling alone with the two little boys for so long. I have many fun things packed to hopefully keep us all entertained. If there are no delays then we will be traveling for 22 hours. That makes for a very long day for all of us. We can't wait to see everyone in just a few hours (I wish I could beam us there...or at least Glade. He is anything but a good traveler!). Okay, off to bed. My goal was to be in bed by 10pm. I have 3 minutes...I may actually make it!

I've done these types of trips with two little kids before. Not for 22 hours, but about 8 hours. Good luck. :)

Erika! Sorry it's taken me so long to write you back and answer your questions.
I don't know exactly how many surgeries Jared had, but here are the ones that I know of
3mos lip
18 mos palate
12 yrs bone graft
21 or 22 yrs lip z-plasty
he also had surgery on his nose sometime while he was a teenager. So that's five surgeries that I can remember him telling me about. He obviously doesn't remember the first two surgeries, but he remembers the others. He doesn't do so well coming out of anesthesia and he's learned that he's allergic to some of the really strong pain killers. So he really hopes that he never has to have any type of surgery ever again!
There is no history of cleft lips in Jared's family.
I hope you are enjoying your time with your family in UT. And I hope you all travel safe and happily back to the Netherlands!
